This subject matter treated in diverse oils, water-colors and drawings, was allowing the author to represent in the figure of the woman the life sometimes joined with the death (sick mothers and of wretched and sad aspect). In any case, the mothers, as that of this picture, turn out to be always overturned loving on his children.

 Here the tones cake accompany the image of lullaby and inclination towards the baby while it nurses it, with a touch of melancholy. The colors predominate over cake and hot tones, of soft and delicate lines, and the figure of the mother, with elongated proportions, he remembers Picasso's admiration for The Greek one.
